Clemens is supporting clients from the travel & logistics and the energy industry on their decarbonization journey with a focus on sustainable fuels. He has extensive experience across the full SAF value chain from strategic business planning for producers over FID preparation and go-to-market approach to SAF sourcing strategy and application. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Bonn and also studied Economics and Computer Science in Ulm and in Melbourne. Before joining McKinsey, Clemens was as a lecturer and researcher at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Bonn. Earlier in his life, he worked with street children in Ecuador for a year and a half.
