Tim McCaffery has experience as both and investor and entrepreneur. At SCG, Tim leads the Deep Technology and Life Sciences CVC funds from Bangkok Thailand. SCG’s portfolio has $220M AUM in both direct and fund investments. SCG’s Deep Technology CVC invests in decarbonization technologies including clean energy generation, storage, CCUS, batteries, circular economy and industrial biotechnology. The company’s Life Sciences CVC invests in medial biotechnology, therapeutics, diagnostics, devices and genomics companies.

Tim is also the interim CEO of CubicPV which is a portfolio company of SCG. He stepped in from the BOD and has lead the company since 2024.

Tim has an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management, an MS in Materials Science from the University of New Hampshire, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire.
